Megan's Tabanca Cookbook: Real Trinbagonian Delights

Have you ever tasted something so delicious, that you simply couldn’t get enough of it? Imagine traveling to a new country, experimenting with its delicious cuisine only to have to return home without a single hope of experiencing its divine tastes and aromas in the very immediate future… It’s an almost empty feeling, like something (or even someone) is missing… That is what we Trinis call, Tabanca. As a Trinidadian who has been traveling, and who recently spent a lot of time in Norway, I can only describe how elated I feel every time I stumble upon an ethnic or international spice store, along with the feeling of sweet redemption and satisfaction as I prepare some of my favorite dishes from my homeland. Yet the reward never ends there… It’s when friends, family and strangers get a taste, and are overwhelmed by a foodgasmic culinary experience, and they keep coming back for more!
